Cornell Tech — Break Through Tech AI Program
Lab Facilitator — Summer 2026, Summer 2025, Summer 2024, Summer 2023
Led team of three teaching assistants and instructed Machine Learning Engineering lab at Break Through Tech AI. Topics include LLMs, feedforward and recursive neural networks (RNNs), NLP preprocessing, data processing, analyzing the mechanics of decision trees and k-nearest neighbors, trade-offs between algorithmic choices, gradient descent, logistic regression, feature/model selection, bias-variance tradeoff, analyzed ensemble methods (stacking, bagging, boosting), software development best practices, model deployment and monitoring.
The program helps college women (trans and cis), nonbinary, and other underrepresented groups in tech gain the skills they need to get jobs in the fastest-growing areas of tech: data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Programming language: Python.

Provided feedback to eCornell team developing the fourth version of Break Through Tech AI’s Machine Learning Course through weekly meetings. The team included the National director of Break Through Tech AI, three eCornell engineers, and myself.

Led team of 6-10 teaching assistants for 200+ student statistics course using R Programming and instructed weekly lab covering statistical methods relevant for research in biological fields. Other responsibilities included grading 3 semesterly exams, grading final exams, grading weekly homework, posting weekly lab on Canvas, editing weekly homework assignments, attending weekly lab meeting, posting weekly attendance poll on Canvas, proctoring all exams.
